The Day After at Phipps Conservatory!

Everyone went home after Christmas last night except the
Ashe family and they stayed all night!   That was Great!
But the next morning, actually during the night
we had some very sick folks on our hands.

The stomach flu after Christmas is an awful thing…

but they put on a good face and made the most of it.
It was great to have them all stay longer but
almost everyone shared the joy… except
Bruce and me.

So later in the day… to get some fresh air we hit the Phipps Conservatory with the other Krogh Family.

The Orchids were spectacular!
Let's see a few----

Simply beautiful!

A fun picture of a great family!!

We ar so fortunate to have such great kids and grand kids!
They all bring us great joy!!!

And not just Christmas joy.. but joy all throughout the year!!

The conservatory had all the outside lit up, too…
as well as all the beauty inside.

But it was COLD!!!

These guys didn't know it though.  They're always havin' fun.
Going through the tunnel of lights.

It wasn't really dark enough but the crowds get
heavy as the evening darkens so we went early.

The Univ. of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning
shooting up out of the ground.

And just beyond the new parking lot at Phipps.…
is  Carnegie Mellon University!

These huge lighted bulbs kept changing colors!

CMU lighting up its own world!

The dark certainly brought them to life!

And then we went back inside to see the rest of the
flowers and to get warm!
The yellow "star in the sky" is made of glass!

Sitting close to get warm…
Where did the boys go?

This room was so beautiful…

AND THIS TREE!!!!

IT WAS SIMPLY MAGICAL!

An Igloo and the 3 bears?  Where is Goldilocks?
 Another magical moment!
This scene was at the entrance and at the exit!

What a gorgeous greeting
and a beautiful memory on the way out
of a special night at Phipps Conservatory.

Thanks, Rob and Michelle and boys
for making sure we got to see
this wonderful display of
beauty this Christmas!

love,
mom
