We decided to take a couple days and head to the
Northern part of Rwanda! Took off for the Virunga
Lodge to see if we could see the Volcanoes and the Lakes!

| As we get closer to the lodge the views are getting better. |

| There are no stores any where near here. We wondered how far this guy had carried these on his head all the way up to the lodge! We had a cup of coffee and sat and talked…Maybe we should have helped him. |

| If only it was a wee bit clearer… This would be toatlly awesome. Been here other times and you couldn't see anything so this was a treat. |

| Later I found out that they were on their way to a "baby shower"……the Gehemba.. i think they call it. |

| I love this little shop. It is just a container…with window cut out of it and a roof put on top. MTN is one of the telecom companies in Rwanda, like AT&T. |

| Once we arrived in Muzane, we looked for the little B&B where we were going to stay.. and this beautiful tree and yard awaited us at The Garden House! |

| Guests waiting for dinner.. The family table was full of guest staying at the house and those from town staying other places. |

| Tom and Judith… in the front we met this night at dinner. What a great couple from Canada. Judith is here working training nurses in Rwanda. The dinner was delicious and the company fun and entertaining. |

| Elaine the owner and her husband bought this house around 2008… and it needed much work. |

| They have built a little oasis here with a great garden. |
 |
| I think this is why they named it the Garden House! Great visit here and place to relax. |
 |
| On the way back…we followed ALL these buses. The drivers kept telling us to pass them but when we got to a place where everyone pulled over.. the police pulled us over ((along with 2 other drivers) and told us we would have to be punished. For what? For passing a delegation… He meant all the busses… We told him we didn't know what it was.. He was gone a long time and then came back with all of our driver's licenses and said, "You are forgiven" All the drivers were relieved. Guess we learned that it is illegal to pass a delegation of buses! |

| To top off the day… This little monkey was sitting along side of the road. Great two days in Rwanda with Bruce!! love, margie |
