Sunday in the Sun!

The sermon this morning was given by Moses.  I don't know if he has another name but everyone just calls him, Moses!  He preached a very well documented sermon on abortion and its affects... both statistically and spiritually.  It is staggering what is happening around the world and the number of children that will never know life for themselves because someone else made the decision to end theirs.
It is heartbreaking for everyone.
I thank the Lord for people like Moses, willing to bring this important live changing issue to light.  It was not a condemning sermon but one taught simply through what scripture teaches about life and forgiveness from our Father.
Thank you, Moses!

After church we headed to Mille Collines,
better known to people who saw the movie as
 Hotel Rwanda.
A place where the lives of so many who were
facing destruction were protected.  It became a refuge
for many whose lives were spared.

And look at it today.

We came for the Sunday Brunch but it
was pretty full... so we got a seat under a great umbrella.
I was not totally under the protection from the sun
and happy about that.  The sun was toasty warm.
It is rarely HOT here.
(Sorry to say that to most in the US right now)
But usually the sun feels good because it is warming you up
from a chill in the air

Our waiter and Dave ordering his drink from him.
The dusty air and the dryness during this "dry"
makes us quite thirsty all the time.
In fact, we are going through more than 10 gallons
of water a week  That feels like a lot.

The view from near where we were sitting
looks over the whole city down over the hill.

Great place for brunch.  The little thatched roofs
are popular at many of the local places.

Just another "little" poinsettia plant gone wild.
Some of these around town are full sized trees!

This is the backside of the hotel...

and the pool area.

From the front you might recognize this hotel.

We had never come here to eat before today but I hope we will
go back again.  The food was delicious and the atmosphere
was serene, cozy and comfortable.

Spent the balance of the day at home before it was time to
take Dave to the airport and send him off to France!
The airport isn't very well lit so pictures are hard to get but
got this one just as Dave was going through security.

It was so great to have him here for even a short time.
Dave, thanks for coming and I know Bruce was
extra happy that you were able to take some time to
come be with us.
Next time you must bring Cathy!

Safe Travels and time in France!

love,
margie
