Dave arrives from NYC!

Dave Pine, the best man from our wedding some 37 years ago and a college
classmate from Wheaton arrived today... July 11th!  He is on his way to work in France
next week so decided to join us for a few days!  The only sad thing was that his wife
Cathy couldn't come with him.
But it was a great reunion... for Bruce and Dave, especially!

The First "Dave" sighting in baggage at the airport.

Outside it was pretty dark but did manage to get
 these two guys together!

That night we just chilled and talked and the next day

Dave and Bruce headed to CMU/Rwanda.

But on Friday we headed for the MARKET!!!
This little love was one of the first greeters we met.

As we strolled along side of the main market we found this "tailor"
shop with everyone making clothing.

Pictures of all the stuff.
Most things are second hand but a few are new.

Got this shot of some "freshly" carved meat.
I have to admit, meat is one thing i haven't purchased
at the open air market.  Dave didn't think he would either.

Dave at the market....as we are entering the
fabric end of the main market.
This would be our doorway to the
rest of the indoor market.

This sweet lady sold me some fabric...She goes to
Innocent's church so she was happy to see him.

Potato---"Potatoe"---either way you spell it
there are thousands of them here.

HEAPS AND HEAPS OF POTATOES!

I don't know if there are more potatoes or bananas.
It might be a tie.

Dave seems to be observing life at the market.  Taking it all it!

We always hit the "chicken coop" so today was no exception.
Looks like Dave caught this one on his phone!
We had these ladies tapping our shoulders asking if we would
take their pictures...so we did. One with a Papaya.

And a bunch with beans!

HOW ABOUT THIS SMILE???
DOESN'T IT JUST GRAB YOU?
ONE SUBTLE, ONE SUBLIME.

Suddenly the little old gramma that i met months ago... showed up.
We were so happy to see her.  I didn't catch her smiling here... but she sure did.
This picture also give you an idea of just how little she is.

This merchant was cleaning her shop's floor.. Wanted you to
notice that she is sweeping with the little broom to her right....and that
she is doing it the whole time folded in half.

 The "contemporary" market.

This sweet mamma was selling mangos so we got some from her.  This was on the
other side of the market.  We'd gone looking for the chicken bus but didn't find it.

What we did find though and Dave pointed this out was the Public Toliet
sponsored by Tigo  (a mobile phone provider)

Check out the logo... Express Youself???  HAHAHAHA

We had dinner at home and a long discussion about
Obamacare!  Oh, how I miss these kinds of times!

All for this day... after dishes and cleaning up the kitchen
we all crashed.

love,
margie
