Can You Find the Birds?

CAN YOU SEE THEM?

This blog is for the kids... sort of a hidden picture sort of page.
But you adults might like it, too!
Go for it!!!

Hint:  Look just left of middle.
 He's lookin' right at you!
Now you can see the whole bird?  It's a yellow Weaver.

 Bath Time!
Shakin' it Up!
Almost done.
"WHAT'S THIS", wonders the Warbler?

 OK.. BOTH FEET ARE IN.
OOOOO... IT'S A LITTLE TOO COLD.

OK.... MAYBE IF I JUST GO IN A LITTLE AT A TIME.

 BOTTOM END FIRST!  Woo Hoo!
I'M COMMITTED NOW!
This one is really hard to spot.  Just a little head looking
into the water over the lip of the base. (Hint: to the right of center)
One Little Finch, coming in for a landing...
and the weaver, too!
Oops, he slipped.

HELLO, I'M A BLACK FACED WEAVER!
But right now I have a red face because
I'm a just little embarrassed I fell in.
 COOLING DOWN!
GETTING OUT!

THAT FELT PRETTY GOOD!

Next, a new bird.. I can't tell what it is.
Oh...as i'm typing this he just flew in near me
on the other side of the house so i got a better look.
So, the verdict looks like a grey-headed sparrow... but
it is a pretty large bird for a sparrow so i'll keep looking.
No, i think that is right..  the book says they are about 6".
Can you see him chillin'?  What about the 2nd bird?
Now your work is really cut out for you.
There are 5 birds in this picture... can you find them?

There are 6 to find here... Good Luck! A couple are really camouflaged.

This one is a little easier... only 3.

And 3 again... no, 4!  (look for the legs)

There are 6 to find in this picture.
(4 finches, 1 weaver and one other one really hard to see.)

These are all visible. Whew!

Three little ones... all in different places.  See them?

This guy is just trying to look at himself, I think!

Just to give you an idea of where the little bird bath sets.
Can you find the little brown bowl in the center?
See how dry the grass is now, during the dry season?
I was shooting all these pictures from the patio.
Two little finches are here.
 Can you find all 3?

Now there are 4!

This may be the hardest one.  I see 3.
How many do you see?

By they way, this little bird bath is about 12" in diameter.....
Just to let you know how little these finches are.

Coming back for another dip.

Guess not.. the water must be too dirty by now!
Can you see the onlooker in the side?

The Hunter's Sunbird never gets in the
water.  But he does like to get in other
bird's faces!  He is an ANGRY bird!  Ha!
He watches over all from our balcony but
apparently can't see his 'enemy' right underneath him.
Can you find him?

This Olive-Throated Sunbird is the one the
Hunter has been doing
battle with over the nest.

These Sunbirds defy gravity.

This is a huge bird.  He about 13"long and is a very clumsy flier... Two or three of them flew in but I couldn't get at a good angle so you can see them..
Guess you'll just have to
see if you can spot him?  He is a Speckled Mousebird!
This is a better picture of his head.  His hair is always
standing on end!
Last but not least is Olive trying to "run away" from the Hunter.
She must have been hoping that she could hitch a ride!

Well, how did you do?  Did you find any that I missed?
By the time you have found and counted all the birds in each of the pictures...
you should have a total of 84! ( at least that is what i counted)
That's a lot of birds... of course some of them you counted twice... but you should
have been able to find that many.
I hope you have had fun doing this and feel like
you have been bird-watching today!

Look around your own yard or park
and see how many different birds you can find!
Maybe you could even send me some pictures of birds you find
around your house!

Happy Looking!

love,
margie/ gramma!
