A Restful Day after the Long Flights!

Saturday morning was Umaganda Day... but I didn't go this time.
We had a leisurely breakfast and talked about all the things
we will do this coming week.  Nelda said breakfast on our "kitchen patio" was
her favorite thing to do each morning..

OK TIME OUT!
WOW, did I get confused!   I posted this original post as things we have done on Sat.. but that is wrong.

This was our Monday!
We decided to take a walk about the neighborhood in the late morning.
We discovered just 4 doors or "walls" down... a new piece of equipment
that had just started digging a very deep hole.  Looks like this house will have a cellar
or a swimming pool.

This girl was walking through the neighborhood, too.
She posed for us.

Now, THIS is what you buy life insurance for.
Seriously, can you believe someone would or could
actually work on this kind of scaffolding?

Beautiful flower on one of the hedges!

Time to check out some of the African handcrafts at the Anahora handcraft shop.
This store or cooperative for women is housed in a garage and small house.  We pulled into the very short driveway and the garage doors opened and there was the merchandise.  We shopped here for a little bit and then headed to the pool.

We all decided we wouldn't take any pictures at the pool!!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!

You'll have to use your imagination!

But we went to the new Gorilla Hotel near our house
and spent about 3 hours.  It was very relaxing and the sun felt
great.  Nelda and the girls think it is pretty cold here so they finally
got warm in the sunshine. (Leaving 100 degrees in the Chicago
area and coming here to the 70's was quite a shock!!)
At 3:00 I had a meeting with 1/2 of the committee for the fall concert
fund raiser.   Marie, Cindy and Machiko and I
met from the AIC...It was held here at Cindy's, the ambassador's wife's house.
We had a great meeting and got a lot of work done.

But before we started working we had a cup of tea and a cookie from this
beautiful china.  Thought you'd like to see a picture of it--with the Presidential Seal.

Bruce picked us up at the end of our meeting and we headed home for
a big dinner.  We were ready to just sit and talk.

Today was our relatively quiet day to prepare for our BIG DAY
tomorrow.

See you then.
