Jeans, the Genocide Museum, CMU and Coffee

This morning is Thursday and with having the family here I have gotten a little behind.  So... I will write a little but mostly post pictures even though everything on this page happened on Saturday!

Innocent's new jeans!!     Yea!!!

At the entrance of the Genocide Memorial.
The everlasting flame.
Downtown Kigali from the Memorial

This could be the comment from thousands of children.
Many of these children... well, young adults are the folks
we encounter in everyday life.  This is what makes the
joy of the people here even more amazing.

The open area of the tomb where over 250,000
people are buried.  They were brought here from all
over Rwanda when they were found.
Flowers have been placed here in their honor.

Resting after walking the inside of the memorial.

This guy was created for the outdoor memorial.
Dedicated as a living memorial... with beautiful
gardens this guy sits here with his cell phone.
This is to remind people that with this cell phone
"Never Again" could something like this happen.
Calls for help would be immediate.

We drove to Telecom House for the tour of
CMU/Rwanda!   This is final piece that has been added to
Bruce's office....the conference table.

Looking at the great view from his office.
Sitting in the Student Work room!

By this time we were ready for an afternoon cup of coffee
so we went to the Umubano.   When we walked into the
restaurant/pool area this little guy was there with his folks
that we had met at church last week.  Great face, huh?
He is so sweet.
These Bird of Paradise were sitting right next to us.
But i guess we forgot to take a picture of us!

It was a great first day to see a couple things and just be
together and talk.  Dinner was at home and then we all
crashed!  Sunday is going to be a big day so we thought we'd get
rested up!  So happy they are here!!!

love,
margie
