NEVER TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED!

Leaving the States from New York City…It doesn't look the same….On movies you can catch glimpses of the old city's silohuette…on posters in basements and 2nd hand thrift shops.
 The Twin Towers
are gone except for the memories of those two parallel structures  towering over NYC
BUT
One day-- just one.. no really in just a very few minutes,  they were destroyed and everything changed in America and actually everything in the world.

And we didn't see it coming….

The view today only finds one very tall tower --
1776 feet to be exact.
The FREEDOM TOWER--
rising out of the floor of ground zero.
We can never take FREEDOM for granted…
or anything else for that matter.

Every time we fly…from here back to Africa my prayers are always for my family and friends
that we are flying away from.
We never know when we go to the grocery store or fly across the
world to other lands if we will see those we love tomorrow….
On 9/11 most folks weren't thinking that way about their families.  Everyone was just starting off another day--as usual.
When I looked at these pictures… it reminded me of all that
and how we should never take a day for granted.   Even more so, we should never take our Freedom for granted!
We are a blessed country in America…
Are we taking that for granted?    What do you think?

We landed in Amsterdam and changed planes to this big beast.
See the big top notch on it?  That is the "upper level".

And that is where our seats were.  WOW…  is this really an airplane?

The flight attendant took our picture…
Even the business guys were impressed--with the plane, not us.

Seriously .. this is not something to take for granted!
A shot of the TV screen advertising Amsterdam.
I amsterdam!!  Clever!
And then a mere 25 hours after we left… we
arrived back to our other backyard.

This is not to be taken for granted either.  We feel so blessed to be working in Rwanda and living in this little paradise.

One of the weaver's even gave us a welcome home or more like a
"where have you been" face!

Having two homes and two sets of friends is amazing….
but we only have one family and
I trust that we would or could not ever
take them for granted…even though we are 10,000 miles away.

Ok..  I'm sure most of you are thinking this is too sentimental…
but honestly, it is from my heart.

Not taking you for granted!

love,
margie
