CMU and Umubano

Carnegie Mellon University is a stop with all our guests to see
where Bruce works and has his being in Kigali and family is no exception!
Johnson, CMU's IT manager met us in the hallway.
Bruce was in a meeting when we arrived.

"My heart is in the work" is a quote from Andrew Carnegie.  I saw this banner at the book store in Pittsburgh and brought it back to CMU Rwanda. It was framed and hung and is now the
"centerpiece" of the students' work ethic!

Ann and Roger both got the tour of the "campus"….

and had the classic picture taken with the CMU sign!

After our tour we went over to the Umubano hotel for lunch and a short time at the pool!   The Imperial Crown Birds are showpieces at the hotel… only today they weren't out of their cages until after lunch.

We were sitting pool side and watching the birds
approach the dining area!

It seems that after all the people leave the restaurant area, they allow the birds to roam the outside dining area and clean up all the crumbs.  I thought having a dog was great for that.. but birds?

'"You got a problem with that?"

So Ann and I chilled in the sun and Roger
got the news in the shade!

You know the "ban all pictures at the pool"
rule, right?  Well, sorry Ann… I did
get your feet in the picture… totally unknowingly!

From an Educational Institution to a Recreational Place!
It was a relaxing day… to get over jet lag
 before our trip tomorrow.

Love,
margie
