A Weekend of Joy and the Pirates!

Home Sweet Home again and my niece Joy drove in from DC to  join us for Easter weekend!  So great to have her with us.
What we didn't know was that her car had over 200,000 miles
on it and the morning after when she tried to get "her" to move…..
she collapsed….Not Joy…. her car!

broken axle…

Other issues…

 Final result… totaled!

While we were out getting the verdict on the car…
our little next door neighbor kids came out to say hi!

They are so precious… if i didn't have my little grandkids… i would have to scoop these guys up and claim them!  But I can  still love them and love seeing them and their folks!  They
are terrific neighbors!

So later that day we made our way down town with Heather and kids to stay over night and prepare for the 5K or 1K family walk.
We got our t-shirts and checked in and Katherine put her shirt on!

A little angel

Rob and Michelle's crew arrived and the kids were checkin' out the view!

But they were all ready to eat dinner.

We walked across the bridge..
aren't they cute… just missing the Versaw's

The kids ran in a sat next to a table of 4 and i moved them quickly because i figured they would be
so loud the table of 4 would never be able to talk.
We were in a little pizza place in down town Pittsburgh…. on the second floor!

The rest of us sat across the aisle from the kids.

Sangria all around and happy smiles…  Now this is the way to get ready for a race. I sat back down after taking this picture and a lady from the table of 4 tapped me on the shoulder and said. "You don't remember me, do you?"

I said.. "No… should I?"  and then she proceeded to tell me that
she goes to the same church we go to in KIGALI!!!   AND
That i have her daughter in the 10-12 yr old Sunday School Class.
WOW-- the world is small!
And when I went over to the table to say hello to the others…  The boy in the blue shirt said
"I know you and your husband, too:…  WHAT?  Yes….. the minute he said where we had met…. in Nyungwe at the Lodge in Rwanda… i remembered talking with him. Amazing…They were all visiting relatives from the South Hills!   WHAT FUN!!

So after dinner some of us took the newly opened subway from the city center to the North shore.

Not too many people with us…

What a beautiful station!

Strollin' under the over pass…

towards the Baseball Stadium!

Plenty of personality in this shot!!!
Last shot of the stadium before bedtime!

Before that we had a great time swimming and
enjoying the pool.  The kids are getting to be
good swimmers, unlike their gramma who
simply screams if her feet aren't on the bottom
of the pool.

A fun day it had been!

I kept my feet on the bottom!!!
It's so great to be home.

love,
margie
