On Our Way to the Children's Home!

SATURDAY morning we started off to meet Arlene Brown in a town about 1 hour south of Kigali!  Arlene is a woman who listened when God called her and she has quite a story to tell... That will be in the 2nd blog today or tomorrow.  But first...
This little beauty met us at the door this morning!
Off to find a new place in town...
No, this isn't a Pre-School... It is the doorway
to the African Bagel Company!  Behind the wall...

 We found Muzungus...(white people)
I think we found all of them in Kigali!  It was quite strange to see almost all white folk.
But the place had great bagels and doughnuts.... It is run by a Bostonian and is only open on Saturdays!

Bruce is talking to a girl that works in a Somalian Refugee camp in
Kenya but is in Kigali for some R & R.  She was from Chicago!
Leaving here we head for the countryside.

We had a little trouble getting out of town.
Check out the cars and all the people going different
directions all at once.  Chaos...no, everyone seems to
know how it is supposed to work.

Finally we are getting out into the hills.
Everyone carries everything on their heads.
Except these guys on their way to get water!
They are very fortunate to have a bike.

Cactus and Birch trees growing side by side!
I try not to take too many pictures of all the people in front
of their homes or shops.... so here is a quiet little street.
Another little village.

The Hills of Rwanda get even prettier the higher we go.

But the higher we go the harder it gets for the bikes...
so they latch on to the trucks, semis or any large
vehicle that will pull them up the hill.  I only hope
they don't let loose!

We'll soon be at the Children's Home... so stay tuned!
