A VERY LARGE DAY IN and OUT OF KIGALI

(Continuing on our day)

After driving 45 min. to Urukundo Children's Home we started
our tour first since the kids were still in school…

They greeted us and sang for us, too.

They did recitations and more songs as we looked on.
Mama explaining where the new school will be
on the other side of this one.

This was art class--they were drawing the building we were standing near.  What a great classroom!

Center stage!  This is the NEW ART and MUSIC CENTER!!

The art supply and work room.

 The Music Center

Oh.. and the library is now housed here, too!
All the work it took to move this all the way from down the hill to this location high on the hill!! But the result is beautiful!

So is the views… You can still see the Volcano way off in the distance from here on the hilltop!

So wonderful!

Heading down to the other buildings!
Looking back up to the Art and Music Center!

Barb And Kate… ahead of the elementary school.
Visiting the kids in their classes!

These are the desks and chairs that AIC donated.

Recess!
Posing!

On to the farm…. new baby piggies!

New baby calves!

New baby goats… KIDS!!!

Not new chickens!

Some new baby bunnies.

Had a great visit with Arlene and the kids and then headed home for dinner.  Ready to collapse and that was just Friday!
Saturday up early to head to JLynn's for breakfast--
egg sandwiches on bagels!!
Second stop today… was the RwaCof plant where
coffee beans are processed!

The making of the bags!

The ink press!
All the beans ready to ship to other parts of the world.
I didn't take all the picture of the plant again since
I have taken them so many times before.
But the motos were new!

During the "tasting" time  Immanuel showed us the
different kinds and qualities of coffee..These are before they are roasted.  They ship the beans "raw" and then they roast them
upon arrival in the place they will be sold.

Both Barb and Kate wanted to go to the Genocide Memorial…
so while they were inside.. this German delegation arrived and all of us had to disperse.  I was waiting outside for Barb and Kate when they came.
The man with the white hair is Herr Steinmeier…

He is the Minister of Foreign Affairs….
(Only know this because at this writing I am in Germany and my German friends told me who he is).

Had to make myself scarce since the body guards were
shooing us away.
I went to sit behind one of the new building looking over the city
and soon Barb and Kate came out.  We headed home and to meet Bruce…and head off for HEAVEN!!!

Had a fun evening at Heaven with these two!

After dinner the children came to do traditional
dances for all of us at the restaurant that
evening..  They were pretty good and
a lot of fun to watch.

And that was the end of day two!
We packed a lot in this day, too but it was
all fun!

Great to have these guys here with us!

love,
margie
