Can you imagine…
This big guy sitting in the birdbath for my little birds.
Figured out he is Mountain Buzzard! |
Penetrating eyes.. for sure! |
Then he flew up on the roof… |
Actually think he was watching the weaver nests to see if there were youngin's to eat. |
He was regal looking! |
This is a weaver bird "weaving" a new nest on the inside of our wall. |
They work very hard…. |
But come up for a pose now and then. |
This is a Robin-Chat! And they are LOUD every morning singing at the top of their little lungs at 5:30!! JOY! |
This little Red-cheeked Cordon-bleu is barely as tall as the grass.. They are such tiny birds and usually very cute. But in this picture he is all wet from the morning dew! |
They are so funny all wet… No.. he isn't bleeding.. That's his red cheek! |
They are always in pairs…..
Whereas, the Northern Red Bishop ( which is HOT ORANGE) is always alone! |
I love this bird, in fact… he flew in just as i was bringing up his picture! |
They are both smaller birds. |
Can you find the little red-cheeked cordon-bleu in the picture? Right at the beginning of the grass line? Tiny! |
Fluttering his little tail! |
Doesn't any one have a towel? |
This is how close they let me get to them… Can you see that little blue guy on the 2nd brick? |
I don't know this one's name. |
Another Weaver… and then this flew in… |
Looks like something out of the RIO movie! … He is a African Paradise-flycatcher. Just happened to "catch" him… on the wall. I think he is stunning! |
A Weaver baby? Or a Northern Black Flycatcher? |
The these two dropped in but … no idea what they are… |
They all love their morning bread! |
The whole family flew in for breakfast! |
That's all Folks!
All these beautiful birds and I haven't even left our yard!
Really!
love,
margie |
