Our Kagugu Kids In and Out of School

On Sunday… after church we went to visit the boys at King David Boarding School. Other pictures on this page are from other days…  but most are from this day.

This picture is not from this day.. but from the day we took Cynthia back to her Boarding School…  Her mom on the left.. then Cynthia and her cousin next to her and her mom… She didn't know her cousin would be there so
she was surprised and happy.

King David had acquired some cows!!!

Kofi and Patrick are growing up!
It was so good to see them.
We had a great visit with them…  ( no that isn't a crown  on Patrick's head.  That's the tent in the background!

These pictures were from Graudation day and Patrick was highlighted as one of the male traditional dancers.  All those
pics are in movie mode, sorry.

Getting back to the day that Barb and Kate were with us.
This was the first time I had seen them since
the end of Nov..
a long time… so lots of stories to hear!
The school is finally painted.
In the background on the hills way in the distance is the Free Trade Zone…  The area that the CMU campus will be built!
The airport is near here and the planes go over quite low…all the time.   Consequently, many of the students want to be pilots!
Barb and Kate got to see another picture of Rwanda at boarding School.
They are growing up!
On our way out of the school after our visit….
Saying goodbye til next month!
We took Kate to the airport after our visit with the kids… She
needed to get back to Nairobi for work…But Barb stayed on with us!  Maggie and Kate are both very brave, strong girls
to be taking on the world with their jobs and traveling all over the world, in the process..  God has gifted each of them with compassion and love for others… They are a blessing to all the lives they touch!
This picture was taken on the kids "spring break"!   Really it is the break for the time of Remembrance in Rwanda… but it was great to be with them.

Kofi always wants more pictures of himself..
This is a good one of him.

Yes… he is this tall!

After church we went for pizza … at a newer place just down the road from church.  The little guy is Serge, Cynthia's little brother..  He is in day school and we are helping all of them with the help of other family members and friends to put them through school.  Serge hasn't been a part of the bigger process… since he isn't in boarding school yet.

Before it rained, the guys got in about 30 minutes of swimming..
Not long enough but they were happy to have gone for just a little!

These are our "Kagugu" Kids… since they come from the
village of Kagugu…where we all live.  We live in a very developed area of Kagugu and they live in the village… but we are all close and therefore spend a lot of time together when they aren't in school….

The kids have been a blessing to us since they teach us much about Rwanda and since they are learning more and more English and
are in better schools they are happy, too!

Watching them grow up in the Lord and
also watching their academic endeavorers
is a joy for us, as well!

Thanks, Nelda, Kristi and Amy and your friends in
Bourbonais for helping these kids have a future… brighter
than it might have been otherwise!

love,
margie
