Presenting the New Penn Hills Elementary School!!

Having been on the school board when this project was begun, I was so happy to be home for the opening of this state-of-the-art place!   What a beautiful and LARGE school this is…  No commentary necessary except to say I wish only 1 equipped room from this school could be in Rwanda to show them what can happen in a classroom.  ( of course, it does take a lot of funds).  All the learning is rote in Rwanda and children just copy notes from the board all day---no text books…individual desks…..
What would they think of this?

The Library!

I feel honored to have been a part of this process… in the early  phases… done by AI Architects!

I hope this building will serve the students
of Penn Hills well over the course of its
history and that many great kids and leaders
will move from here to Linton Middle School
and on to the Penn Hills High School….

The thing I wish i could give our kids in Penn Hills and throughout America is the love of learning that the kids in Rwanda have.
We have so much and there are virtually no resources in Rwanda.
It would be my prayer that we don't take the great educational process we have in the States for granted..

EVER!

Love,
margie
