Worship and Idlewild

My third Sunday morning in Pittsburgh.
All three began at Hebron for the 8:15 service where Michelle and Adam and us attend.
Great preaching and worship and wonderful to see so many friends and families!

The second Sunday I was also able to attend Heather and Colin's church for Katherine's baptism and to see Gladys and Malcolm... Colin's Mom and Dad!

The Third Sunday again began at Hebron and then proceeded to Fox Chapel
Presbyterian Church where we joined Rob and Michelle and family.
Rob is the worship leader for the contemporary service at FCPC and Heather
and her kids joined us, too.  Colin was at a conference in Philly so we missed him
being with us.

But it was great to be able to be at each of the church's where our kids attend.
Trust and obey-- don't worry and judge ---seemed to be the thrust of the sermons I heard over the last three weeks.  Choice things to contemplate!
Rob and worship team at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church--the H2O service.  The new
renovation is very pretty and quite sound worthy!

After church Rob and Michelle and boys and I went to lunch and Heather went back to our house to let Katherine nap.  Then Wyatt and Henry and I took off for Idlewild.
Heather and her kids were right behind us but

Rob, the Michelle's and Adam and kids came out later!
Idlewild is an amusement park, a play park and a swimming pool,
but today we just did the first two.
Wyatt and Elizabeth waiting for us to get going!
Finally we are in the park and ready to begin the big day!
Joy is written on every face--even Katherine's.

Storybook Forest was First on the agenda
and Mother Goose was there to greet the kids!
The kids loved the little school house and
we had a brief history lesson here about George Washington.

In addition to which Gramma told them all about NOT
being the dunce in the class.  They took note.  ha!
(He's the one in the back of the room with the funny hat.)
The talking oak tree is always a hit.

The magic carpet ride didn't fly the kids anywhere but
it was a great place to rest little legs.

Near the end of our walk through storybook forest, Adam
and Michelle showed up with the kids!  All Iris wanted was the stuffed
animals in the gift shop.

All Katherine wanted was the comfort of her little fingers!

Brian and Henry made cute little Annie and Andy ragdolls.
And so did Wyatt and Elizabeth.
I didn't know Annie was into baseball.

On to Jumpin' Jungle!

Henry and Brian loved playing in the balls....and so did all the other big kids!

Daddy and daughter on a walk to the jungle rope.
Iris just marched right up
She climbed all the way to the top and across
with Daddy right beside her.
The Big Slide on Gunny Sacks
All the way to the end
Several times over!
Heather took Brian and Henry on the log jammer...ahhhhhhhhhh
Wyatt got a good spray from them.
Time for a break so the kids posed on one of the stages
where shows take place every few hours.
You can see the theme of this show!

I don't know if these kids are the heart of country but they sure have my heart!
How did Katherine get left out of this picture????
I love these pics.... sorry there are so many.
The REAL picture!
The last picture... "Ok, you can get up now"!  YES!!
Heading to Kiddy Land and Thomas the Train....

Sir Topham Hatt

And his fans!!!
Sir Robert...
With one of his "biggest" fans!

Adam, Michelle and Michelle
shootin' the breeze waiting for the kids on rides!
Look out!  Here comes Rob and Oscar!

Favorite ride of the day--over and over... again.

Wyatt is wheelin' his way in!

Isaac is wheelin' Elizabeth in....

Michelle bringing Oscar around again.

Adam bringing Iris around just before
she tried to leap off.

The most exciting ride that didn't "do" anything.
Here they come...
What exactly is going on in this picture????
Brian and Henry are taking their bikes seriously!
 Cool Car!
Wyatt taking Oscar on a ride on the raceway.
Action shot-- so it's a little blurred.

But i think he made it "do" something!

All the kids waited to go on the airplanes, so they let
other kids go ahead so they could all get on the same ride.
Wyatt's got control of this plane.. with co-pilot, Isaac.

 Elizabeth is flying with Oscar.
Going up!
Brian and Henry checkin' out how this machine works.
Oh.. the ride is over.. Time to get out!

A memory picture of the Merry-Go-Round!
We didn't even have time to get on this!!!!

We learned when we entered the park that tonight was
fireworks night!  So, of course we had to stay.
Michelle, Adam and Iris left early to go to where
we are all staying tonight but the rest of us
found a place on the hill to watch the shows.
First the show on the stage about "I believe"!  Some of it was good....
Right before the 2nd show... the Fireworks!  Fun picture in the dark in the park!
Everyone was so tired... but we had had a great day.
Katherine, at 6 months, loved them...
She never cried from the noise
and never took her eyes off the sky!

Sweet picture, huh?

After we left the park we headed south to a town
called Donegel and this place...
By the time we arrived here we were really tired... but what a nice surprise.
This is a 'suite' at the Log Cabin Inn.  Designed more for ski season
but perfect for our size family.  Never did get in the giant hot tub, though!
The other 1/2 of this huge room was a small sitting area
and games!  The kids loved it--but not tonight.

First things first.... BEDTIME...
All the little ones in one room...a room full of bunk beds!
Could there be anything more fun, except camp?

I'll let you know tomorrow how this all went.

Heather and Rob and I had a little time
to talk before we collapsed.  That was really nice
since we have so little time to visit.  Adam had to head home
since he works so early in the morning but it was great to have him with us
for as long as we did.  Michelle crashed a little earlier since she
was catching up from her previous trip.

It's been quite a week and a terrific day!

AND THE PIRATES ONE IN THE 19th INNING!!!!

Woo Hoo!!!!

love,
margie

We missed Colin and Bruce though so we decided we'd come back at Christmas!
