The Last Week in the USA

Well, this is the place we stayed--- that we hadn't seen in the daylight.
It was fun and the kids really had a ball.... Now for some pics from the early morning  with no commentary!

We finally got dressed and took off!  I rode back with Heather and Co. so we took a little
side jaunt to Ligonier, Pa... a quaint little picturesque town.

Love this picture!

All smiles!

We headed back to Greenfield.... No, not the baseball field, but the suburb where the Ashe's live and where
Elizabeth had a softball game that night.

Brian and Heather had to have a little fun, too... while i got to be with Katherine.

E. in the outfield. She got to play center field and
the other team kept her pretty busy... even though she was tired
from our two big play days!!
She had a couple good hits that at least got her on base.

Oakland at sunset. I can't remember where we were going here...
oh, yes.. I think it was a trip for frozen yogurt!!!
August 22--
This was the first day of school for Isaac!
Here they come to meet the bus.

It was also the first day back at school for our teachers,
Rob and Michelle!

Isaac was excited to see who would be in his class.

After seeing the kids off i headed to church to meet with Ellen
and take pictures of the newly renovated and designed steps of
our home church at Hebron.
It sure changed the look of the front entry!

The next day.. the 23rd Heather and kids came over.
I had Iris for the day, too and then
Isaac and Michelle came after school.

Brian and Elizabeth hadn't had a chance to be in the bouncy house so
we set it up for the kids to play.
Brian wondering how he will get the ball passed Isaac.
(I'm wondering if that is passed or past....)

Either way--- he did it.  A picture going into the net
through the netting!
The game continued until everyone was worn out!

Huggles and Snuggles on the porch!

On the 24th... the day before I left home I looked out our bedroom
window and there were 15 deer!!!!  By the time i got downstairs,
they had fled all over but I did manage to get these few.  Several
babies were in the little herd.  Barney went crazy chasing them.

Little stuff decided that the table made a better chair than her chair.
(This one might have her own way of doing things.)

With the bouncy house put back in its carry bag, Iris decided it
was a great place for a little tike to take a "little tikes"rest.

Later that evening, Michelle and Adam had us over for a delicious dinner.
One of our favorite pasta dishes from Germany.

The kids had their own private picnic in the living room.
They loved it!

It was a fun way to top off the great day!  We spent some time sitting in the yard watching the kids play and talking, too.  Although i didn't want to leave there was much to get ready to take back and to pack so I left before dark.

At this writing... it is Sept. 4th already and i have been home for over a week now.
It was so wonderful to be with everyone but so hard to think about leaving.
This time we know what it will feel like to be separated and it leaves
a hole in the bottom of my stomach and in my heart.

But it has been a great visit and time for all of us to reconnect.
Thanks for all the time you spent with me, for all the time i was able to
be with the grandkids and for time to be with you kids, too!
Won't be long til Christmas!
love,
margie/mom/gramma
