Glimpses of Life, Lately!

Really, I could take pictures of the clouds here everyday. Don't know why they are so beautiful but they are...  As I write this morning, it is cloudy... a rare event.... but here are a few things just going on everyday here on 769th Street in Kigali.

Bruce took this picture and said we should label it "Margie working for Innocent".
He is always such good help to me and we have fun working together.  We've recently torn apart some flower beds... but this one we were just adding to...

Just adding some more plants...  Yes.. I know.. my work clothes are
rather strange....We just started early in the morning.

Another day Innocent re-did some steps and walkways around the house.
It is so nice to have them done!

Started with the white ones but then we got more of the red....
This is out the kitchen door and into the yard.

And then the BIG news.... The electrician came and fixed all of
our lighting.... replacing almost all the lights in the yard
and many in the house. This is one of our lights..  The birds
don't like them as much because they can't perch on them anymore.
The guys up on top of the water tank working on a light next to it.

Then a week ago I was sitting on the back porch...
and this guy came and sat on our neighbor's roof.

He is a Long-Crested Eagle... and he let me get within 20 feet of him before he flew....

He's been hanging around the neigborhood so he must be getting some good prey.

Then last Wed.. Anne and Geoffrey Rugege headed back to the States
for a visit.  But before.. they hosted a huge breakfast party!
Friends of theirs on the left.  Bruce, Geoffrey's Dad,
Mike and Collete Hughes, Anne, Carol (their daughter) and Geoffrey!

This was the Senior area for Breakfast... with Carol joining in!
Eating a great breakfast!

And check out this picture of a picture..   This is Geoffrey's Dad
shaking/ holding the hand of Paul Kagame and obviously instructing
him on something.  This was taken quite a few years ago
I guess.

At the end of our morning together and as it was time for all of us
to depart... Geoffrey asked his dad to pray for everyone
as we closed our time together.  This so reminds me of how we
used to end each of our visits either with others in their homes
or in our own house!  I don't know what he prayed because it
was in Kinyarwanda but i do know it was deeply felt and spoken.

Got an email from Anne today that said they arrived in the States
safely and immediately attended an event with one of their grand kids!
Perfect way to start a visit, I'd say!!

Hope you have had a great day!
love,
margie
