Well, The Plan Had Been to Leave....

Last night I got on a FULL airplane (KLM 330 Airbus) that holds 325 people and we sat on it for 4 hours while they tried to figure out what was wrong.  Something leaking from one of the wings...but none of the "specialists" could figure out what was wrong.  So,  finally...at midnight... they took us all off of the plane and Bruce came and picked me up and we went home. All the others went to a couple of posh hotels. They officially said it would be a 26 hour delay!

I was so sad not to be on my way to all my family and friends that today I've been simply
exhausted.  The thought of going through all those lines and customs again tonight... oh, boy... But we are closing in on leaving again in a few hours and I'm starting to perk up.  Not that I want or need to leave Kigali and Bruce, I love it here and love him here, too... but my sights were set on the Burgh...and the little ones!

Since I'm still here I will share with you the day before the day before I was leaving!
The kids came for English from 3-5 and they were straight-up on time!!!!!!
(Thanks to those watches that we got at the Expo)

We had a great study time and still had plenty of time for silly!
See for yourself.

Patrick working on his sentence structure.

Koffi took this picture of him.
You can just see how much he wants to do it right and learn well.

Then Koffi asked me to put his glasses on.
TOO MUCH!!!
We got these specks at the Expo. He
wanted them so much even though I told him I
didn't like them.. So, we had a good laugh.

 This is Professor Koffi!
He loves his new glasses!
Teenagers are great, aren't they?

So the glasses started their way around the table.
Pilip looks just like his brother Jung in these glasses, because
Jung has a pair very similar!
Patrick just chortled...
 Being too cool for 11!

Patrick took the camera from Koffi and snapped away.

This was his favorite picture... Me, rubbing my nose!
They really giggled at this one.

Once again... the "Little" glasses on Patrick's little face!
He has quite a gleam in his eye, eh?

P
And last but not least, BARNEY in the glasses!
I think Cynthia thinks the boys are nuts!

Note:  the watches on the kids' arms...
They were on time once they knew what time it was.
Barney's vision improves with each picture.
They were having so much fun!

Pilip really liked Barney in these specks and couldn't
get enough pictures of him.

Just one more....

After all the silliness died down the kids
REALLY
surprised me with 2 sweet pictures for me to
take to America to greet my family.
Each one has loving words on the back
and greetings to the kids and grand kids!
It was so very thoughtful of them.. I don't have any idea
how they could have paid for these gifts.
But here they are, and of course, we each had to have
our pictures together.

I love this picture of the two of us.

The "so sad" to be leaving one!
I didn't realize how tall Koffi is getting!
Doesn't Patrick look like he is thinking.. "can't I go"?

Koffi rode the bike over but Patrick rode it home.
I love the way they share and care for each other.

That was Wednesday.  On Thurs... Koffi who is 14
called to pray for me and with me before my trip home.
Can you imagine?  Well, whether his prayers diverted
a disaster and that's why we didn't take off, or whether
the Lord just had different plans, I don't know.  I just
marvel at the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of these
children.  And how they just pour out the love of the Lord
to everyone around them.

I will attempt to take off again in about 2 hours.  The chocolate
chip cookies are finishing in the oven for Bruce and Clarence to have while
I'm away.  Clarence is one of B's graduate students and he is coming to be
a TA for the orientation.   It will be great that Bruce will have some
company while I'm gone.

So, once again I will say... I'm flying out to see all the kids tonight.
Won't arrive now until Sat. afternoon!
But I do pray that we will get off the ground and arrive there safely!

love to all,
margie

ps. Nelda and Kristi and Amy...

I'm sure glad you didn't have this to deal with
on your trip!!
