Living Treasures and Moraine State Park

About an hour from our house in Pittsburgh is an animal shelter/petting zoo where you can really get up close and personal with the animals and birds!  It is called Living Treasures and the animals are living treasures.  The kids loved seeing all the animals
and actually, so did I.  Rob and Michelle and boys and Heather and her kids came
and since my other daughter, Michelle is in Jamaica with a couple friends celebrating her 30th coming up soon, Isaac was with us, too.  Iris stayed with Grammie and we missed her.  So, here's what we did and saw!
When we went to Akagera National Park in Rwanda these
were the beautiful creatures that met us first.  How
ironic that they were the first gorgeous birds for us to see here-
in America.  Of course, they were in the wild in Africa!!!

The deer and our little dears, too!

Brian, being just a little nervous about feeding this one.

The scenery and grounds were very pretty.

Heather and Michelle chatting away!

These cows are all over Africa and they were in the
barn so i couldn't get their picture live!
What a tortoise!

Pretty Bird!
This huge lion was sound asleep!
Isn't he cute with his big paws curled up?
He could use a good brushing, though.

This Highland Cow had just eaten from Brian's hand.
He was a little surprised about how big his tongue was.

The Red River Hogs!

The real beauties of the park.

 A very unusual White Tiger!

The miniature ponies checking us out!

This tiny little baby goat chomping down a carrot.

The baby enclosure:  Baby camel, zebra, goats, etc.  Even Rob was
having fun feeding them.  Oscar was wanting more food to give them
and Wyatt had just fed the zebra!
Joe Camel had quite a pair of loose lips!   He was giving rides to
whomever wanted to pay a lot of money for one loop around the corral.
Folks waiting to ride the camel, but
we were waiting to ride the pony!

Cowboy Henry!
Cowhand, Brian!
Cowboy, Wyatt!

Cowgirl, Elizabeth!
Cowboy, Isaac asked me not to take his picture...
so... I didn't!
Oscar is the cowboy of the hour!
But no pony for him!!!
Ok.. so they are rubber horses.  They are still clever.

We were really ready for lunch by this time of the day so we went to the local
gas station convenient store and got some sandwiches and chips and cookies and headed
to a place that my kids used to go on youth outings to kick off the school year.... Moraine State Park.

And of course, Rob got a big ball game going with the kids!
Michelle kept trying to keep Oscar safe!  He isn't quite
as big as the older boys... but he doesn't know that.
Henry was out in the outfield....way out in the outfield,
just waiting for the next McCutcheon
to hit one to him!!
Last thing before heading home was Rob taking all the kids to
see the grist mill with the water wheel.

Little stuff, Katherine was all buckled in and ready to travel home.

It was a great outing and fun to be together!
Thanks for taking all the time to be together, kids!
It was a beautiful day!!!

love,
mom
