Eva and Mathias Visit from Germany

Eva and Mathias arrived on a Wed. evening from Germany while Bruce was in the States for a summit in Oklahoma and to visit his mom in Omaha on the way.  Rob and Michelle and the boys drove to Omaha from Pittsburgh for three days to see Grampa and Great Gram, too... Sounded like they had a great time.... but while they were all there Eva and Mathias and I hit the road running....
Mathias was a post doctoral researcher for Bruce
and he brought his family to live in Pittsburgh for a year and a half.  They are now living back in Germany but wanted to take the opportunity to come to Africa while we were here.

While the sun did pop its head out once in a while during their   visit... it was unusually cool and cloudy the entire time!
Just what they expected in Africa...  NOT!

First things, first...We went to see the gorillas!  Not really... These are just statues on a round-a-bout downtown...but

They made a great backdrop for pictures!

This gorilla looks a little grumpy
but not Eva and Mathias.
Here they are with the whole family!
Nice picture, guys!
Maybe one for your 25th wedding anniversary party!?!

We had gone downtown to make reservations to visit the Sowarthe Tea Plantation next week and on our way home we wanted to stop to see Innocent's dad in the hospital.
I told this story before but I will give you an update.

Innocent's Dad had seizures for 3 hours and
he went into a coma on a Sunday and
it appeared that he wouldn't make it.
He was in ICU for 3 days.
But after many people praying and fasting...
these pictures were taken 5 days later.
He actually stood and greeted us with a hug!

So, that was 2 weeks ago and now he is
back as good as new... and telling everyone what
God has done for him.

Quite a testimony!

Eva and Mathias were glad to see this hospital
in Kigali.... but we were even happier to
see Innocent and his family rejoicing
 in the joy of healing.
It was a miracle.

And I'm glad Eva and Mathias were able to
meet the miracle man!

love,
margie
