Lunch at Mavis's New Place!

And here are some of those friends I was talking about!
Mavis moved into her new place and asked a WHOLE
bunch of us over for lunch..  It was totally delighful!

Her porch is grand!  Except for the rain, it was a perfect day.
Her kitchen work space acutally exists and
what a great cook she has, too!

Ead from Thialand, Barbara from Germany and Bea from Belgium

Mavis is holding the flowers...  and Jan is beside her.
Micheale and Elania in between

Everyone was arriving and talking lickty split----
in all kinds of languages!
The smoking area... for Amithy and Sava!

I love this picture because THIS is the way you find us all talking
most of the time.  Fun and engaging converstaion, always.
Barbara, Bea, Nalini, Alga and Ead.
Fleur, Satu and Elania  in not such a serious discussion.

Ok.... girls...  they were really being silly.

I can't remember the first girl's name.. but then there
is Samella, Emi and Kyoto....
from Kosovo, and Japan.
And this is the table we destroyed by eating all the beautiful
food that was served.  Notice the dark green on most of the plates?

The plates were all lined with banana leaves and it was totally gorgeous.
They looked like expensive liners.  Very cool.
Benu and Petra... as we were all getting ready to leave.

Found out from Mavis's husband that he plays the saxophone
and they are looking for a keyboard player.  I'm hoping that Bruce
can find some time to play with them...  The women have all the fun
and the men do all the work.

I love this culture!!!!!

There is plenty of work for everyone to do here...
but sometimes you just have to stop it all and relax.

Thank you Mavis, for having us stop and enjoy your great new place
and all the wonderful food you prepared.  It was a lot of fun!

love,
margie
