Almost Ready to Go

One more full day in Pittsburgh until I leave to fly off to Africa to meet Bruce!
It seems like a dream...but when saying goodbye to some of my kids and grandkids
today... it felt like a nightmare!  I'm very excited about this adventure that the Lord
is sending us on but the reality of leaving family and friends is way harder than i
ever imagined it would be.  So tomorrow will be the last day here before i leave on
March 1st.  I've never written a blog before so i don't know what this will actually
look like once it is posted.  I guess there will be time to learn how to use it.
In the meantime... to all my (our) friends that we are leaving... know that i love you
and will do my best to keep in touch as often as possible. And to my family.. there
really are no words to express the depth of sadness in my heart knowing that
i won't be able to just drive over to your house to see you or vice versa.. But the Lord
will give us all strength and the computer will gives us Skype!  More from Africa!

  2. Oh man, Andrea beat me to being the first commenter on your blog! :)

Can't wait to hear stories either. BTW, if you want to see the post before your post it, click the "preview" button to the right of the "publish" button at the top of the post-writing page. Thanks for praying for us, too!

    Love you, mom!!

  3. We are in awe of your courage to do this with what is going on with your family, kids and grandchildren. This should be one of life's great adventure. We think a shared blog is a marvelous way to share rather than many, many individual replies. Keep your faith in God's will and let his peace flow over you. We love you both and look forward to following your saga via the blog.
    Love,
