PHAME and 50 Years of Penn Hills High School Musicals!

 

PHAME -- Penn Hills Arts and Music Education Foundation has been having its annual gala now for 4 years.  This year was a little different since the Penn Hills High School stage will be disappearing in Dec. when the new high school and stage will open.

So, it was decided that since this was the 50th
year that Penn Hills started doing musicals, the "Gala" part of the dinner would take place on the stage via a musical review and the recognition dinner for our Hall of PHAME inductees would be celebrated at the Churchill Valley Country Club.

The Penn Hills Alumni put on the musical review of the last 50 years and it was a wonderful show.  So much talent and such a bouquet of memories and joy for the crowds both Fri and Sat. nights.

Everything is ready now... just waiting for the guests to arrive.

Thomas Bond was honored as one of our Hall of PHAME Inductees!

Mildred Dunham was another of our inductees
into the Hall of PHAME.
The posthumous awards for Mildred and Tom
were accepted by their families but
we wished so much they could have have been with us
to honor them in person for all of their hard work and dedication
to the Arts and the children of Penn Hills!

 George Mcguire, our third inductee, came all the way from California
to be honored for his incredible success in the Arts!

 Hall of PHAME inductee, Mildred Dunham and gave the award
to her son, Bill Dunham who spoke on her behalf.

Bill Dunham--former stage performer in Penn Hills, as well.

Bill and his wife came all the way from Connecticut

to receive the award in honor of Bill's mom!

It's amazing, isn't it?  And it all started on the
Penn Hills High School Stage!

And Meryl Thomas, PHAME board member and event planner at the Club,

had the honor of presenting Tom Bond's induction into the 2012 Hall of PHAME

plaque to his wife, Pat and family.  His son, Lee Bond spoke on behalf of Tom.

After Lee finished speaking, Anne Marie Dart asked if she might say a few words. 

Tom's wife, Pat and their daughter, Melanie and son, Lee 

look on as Anne Marie speaks.

    Anne Marie Dart--a friend and co-worker with Melanie came to present PHAME with a $5,000 check from Lacrosse Litho Supply, where they both work.

This gift will be used to expand
the arts for children in our schools and community.  

IT WAS A WONDERFUL SURPRISE TO 

ALL OF US AND WE ARE EVER SO GRATEFUL FOR THEIR GENEROSITY TO THE CHILDREN IN PENN HILLS AND OUR COMMUNITY!
