The New Year: Wrestling Wyatt and Discovering Disney!

The second half of the month was full of festivities!!
He's the one standing!
First the chance to see Wyatt in a Wrestling match…
so comfortable and confident-- just having fun.

Going for the pin!

Then 4 of the CMU Rwanda students arrive to study this semester in Pittsburgh…but they didn't know the deep freeze they would be getting into.

Isaac and Wyatt and I decided to get away from the cold.
It was their turn to go to Disney with Gramma…
We're off!

Checking into Fort Wilderness….
the boys immediately found the checker board.
Our little cabin and wheels!
Our first night at a show on the grounds….  No… we were
not the show.. but we had a lot of fun!

The next day Brian met us and we headed for Disneyland..
via the boat to main street!

I'm so dizzy!!!

Watching the Mickey show from afar!
M & M!!!
All five of us together!
Brian took the picture or there would have been 6!
Brain and Wyatt in one car….
Laser Shooting in Buzz Lightyear's ride!

Isaac and I in the other car… We all really liked this ride..
We did it twice!

CHIP AND DALE IN THE GIFT SHOP.
 Alias--Isaac and Wyatt…
having cousin fun!

WOW!!!

The next morning we took off for Epcot.  Brian couldn't go with us but he came over in the morning…..Brian is my nephew… my younger brother's son… He and his wife Amanda work at Disney.  What a great place to work!!  Happy Land USA.
Thank you, Brian for the great time we had with you yesterday!!

The infamous Test Track Ride…  Wyatt wasn't too sure about it.. but he did it and Isaac and I loved the speed and excitement of it.

We'd been talking at lunch and the boys said they would like to work here someday… maybe sing or entertain.  I told them they would need some training to which they thought i was crazy.
"Gramma… we can already sing!"
But from the opening note this acappella group sang-- the boys' eyes almost popped out…  This group sings American classics and spirituals and…
an hysterically funny version of "Old McDonald" !!
This American Pavilion and American History show is
so great it made me cry!  Freedom is alive and well here!
Then on to the Norway exhibit to see if we could see any of the "Frozen" Cast…
But they weren't coming for a couple more hours. So..
we just took a picture of the troll with his Vikings!

We switched parks for the evening and took in some of MGM studios..but this place wasn't our fav!  Could be because we were getting tired!

But every morning the boys got up and had breakfast at their little table while…

they watched the local Disney comics….( the ones us old folks
grew up on!!)  They both wondered why these great cartoons aren't on regular TV stations today!  Me, too!

Today we decided to just explore the grounds of Fort Wilderness.
The boys did crafts…. making hats and bandannas!

Silly cousins!

Went Fishing… with really bad poles!

Isaac telling me about them…

Drove back through the timbers and all the cabins…. to get changed to go…

Swimming….at the great water slide!

And play some video games!

Then we went to meet Brian and his wife, Amanda for dinner at the Big Wilderness Lodge

With BIG CHAIRS
and tired little guys!

But once the food came everyone came to life…
Check out all the ketchup!!
If you asked for some… you got ALLLLL the Ketchup from some other family's table and they
would quickly bring it ALL to your table!  So much fun!

Brain and Amanda knew that the kids would love this place
and they did.

Our waiter was a hoot, too!

Dinner is almost over and everyone is FULL!
But the night is still young…

So we head back to our place where the Chip n' Dale sing a long show was just starting…

The lighting was a little hard to get good pictures…. but we tried.

Our evening and time in Florida with Brian and Amanda was drawing to a close  but not before we had Sm ore's!!  What a fun night to end our time at Disney.  There are a lot more pictures and memories but we can record them all….at least here.
but I think this might be my favorite picture

The boys pulled down the Murphy bed;  jumped into bed, laid their heads down and they were OUT!  Too adorable, huh?

We were all sad our time had come to a close..
We had so much fun!

The next morning we boarded the Disney bus to go catch our plane.  I took this picture but didn't really look
at it til later.   I asked the boys what was going on… " Did you just have a fight or something?"  And they both looked at me and said "No, gramma… we just didn't want to go home."
Awww… it really is hard to leave Disney and all the fun…
(and worse yet when you have to go back to snow and below
zero weather)!

But one more shot of flowers and sunshine!
Our last look at the entrance!

The hostess took our picture on the plane
and then we settled in for the ride back to Pittsburgh,
but more importantly… We were on our way home
to some Mommy and Daddy's that missed their
boys and vice versa!!  But thanks for letting them
go to Disney with me.. One day we'll get Grampa here, too!

Thanks, Isaac and Wyatt for being such
great boys!  I'm so proud to
call you my grand boys!!!  Because you are very Grand!

Let's see who will be next?  Oh right-- Brian and Henry!

But first you have to be 8 years old.. or almost!

love you all,
gramma

Thanks again, Brian and Amanda!!!
It was great to be with you!!!!!!!!

This is our family Christmas picture…  not visible.. later, i hope.

So after our picture taking time Rob and Michelle and boys
wanted to go see the Overly Christmas light display.  No one
else opted to go but me… but it was great!
The only problem was that i had flip flops on and part of the tour
was a lot of walking in the snow and sub freezing weather.
Who knew?

The next night the Ashes wanted to
go see the lights…

But the Lord provided this Christmas light display on the way.
Rich Colors!

Enter: Mom and Dad and babycakes.   VERY cold.. but beautiful…. The Krogh and Versaw families had to get back to go for school to start…. but these
guys were able to stay a bit longer.

Can you see this old sleigh… with lights around the edges
pulled by 2 huge horses?  We went on the "covered" sleighride  but they were both very cool!

The Manger Scene!
The little engine that could!
A great display of lights over the whole acreage!

Fun times in the hot tub!!

The Christmas puzzle is done and so is our time here..

It was great to be with everyone in one space for
even a short time!

A perfect ending for the holidays and
a great way to start the new year!
