When each of our grand kids turn 6 we start planning
our "Take me Out to the Ballgame" outing!
This was Henry's Game Day!!
And indeed it is his game! |
Before the game there were lots of fun things going on in the street outside the stadium.
No… Henry is not in time out! |
Great happiness even before the game began. |
What a gorgeous day in Pittsburgh! |
And the "Cutch" is up! |
What a swing! I just heard this week that he cut his hair! Can't even imagine! |
His name is Walker but he knows how to run--after he hits! |
How about this, Henry? That guy behind us thinks I have some Grays! |
The GRAYS actually were one of the best know black baseball teams that originated in a Pittsburgh suburb called Homestead… The Team began in 1912 & was known as the Homestead Grays!

With new hat and bat… Henry glows! |
So does the city and field! |
Henry battin' with Willie Stargell… |
and swingin', too! |
Finishing off the day with Root Beer and Pretzels.. Henry said "I am SO Full!" But his great grin goes on as his tummy gurgled. |
We had a great day together and now…
Brian it is time for your game!
( Coming soon to a stadium near you!)
And then there was the Zoo… Iris and I had seen the Cheetahs and since the boys couldn't wait to see them… I picked them up from school early one day and off we went!
I love this picture.. The sun was WAY too BRIGHT and I kept trying to get them to smile. ha! Just too hard to do! |
The little red panda was totally flat out and chilling! |
The dragons! |
Oscar is the height of a 3 month old Rhino… Yikes! Too cute! |
Wyatt --as tall as the highest termite mound… which we usually call Ant Hills but really it is termites that build these huge structures. I don't have any idea how he got up there! |
The Lion King! |
Posing for us, for sure! |
Wyatt got the joke, Henry is starting to and Oscar just wonders what just happened. |
Henry is the size of a 4 month old elephant! |
The little one was trumpeting! |
Then the show came from the Ellies! |
Can't get this close in the wild.. That's for sure! |
More calls from the Baby! |
Love these silhouette shots of the boys looking at the animals. |
Looking back and around and down. |
The Peacock
and the Silverback.. Wait.. are we in Pittsburgh or Rwanda??? |
This little one is just a little too much for Mom! |
She lays down the law!
And bites him back! Ouch! |
Dad coming to check things out! |
"You will NOT bite me! See these teeth?" |
Separation time! |
The whole family. Little one under control… |
and loving mom for his discipline. |
" I think that must be where she bit me… It sort of stings." |
"Ok.. I'll be good now. I promise." |
The seals were singing away as we were on our way out of the zoo!
Have you noticed yet that we didn't see the cheetahs? They were inside and we didn't even see one. I felt so bad that the boys didn't get to see them … since that was really why we went to the zoo today! |
Action Shot! |
Showing the boys milkweeds on the way to the car, we discovered these insects all over them. |
Getting on Google we found out that these bugs are to milkweeds what ants are to peonies… They open the pods. |
Finally back home to relax by the fire and have dinner. |
Oscar watching the smoke come out of the top of the chiminea. |
And our Barney… likng having his picture taken, too! He is also waiting for someone to drop some food!!!! Look at those hopeful eyes! Oh.. I miss him!
Love these days with the Krogh boys! From A-B… Animals to Baseball… a great time was had by all-- but especially gramma.
love, gramma
