Just a year ago the first class of CMU/Rwanda students began their Master's Program in IT.
This was opening day for the beginning of the 2nd year
and Bruce addressed the students on a very interesting topic.
First, a history lesson on how Carnegie Mellon began! |
The topic of the day.... |
Just how long does it take to know how to do something well? Well, according to the book Outliers.... |
The answer lies here... getting at least 10,000 hours of practice! If you want to do something well... then it takes lots and lots of pratice! |
This man was quite an innovator.... look what he created. :-) |
Another great innovation--used all over the world. |
This is a great goal! |
Know your stuff...and know what to do with what you know! |
Love this picture of Pie taking pictures from behind the sign. He is one of the first year students! |
Ok... so some of it is just pure providence! |
And right now is the Right Time in Rwanda and Africa! All this has happen in the last year! |
Some of the students. |
Class speaker: Jean Pierre addressing the new class! |
Michel Bezy, Associate Director was the Emcee for the morning. |
Then the guest speaker, Mr. Paul Kokubo began. He is the head of the East African Commodity Exchange in Kigali. |
He told the story of one farmer.... and how things are changing for him... |
and the vision for his future! ( and futures) |
Business development--of course, with the aid of IT... topped off the morning. |
