Thanksgiving away from home??? This was tough but thanks to Greg and Angela
it was a wonderful day. They even provided kids to be with!!! So, it was sort
of like being at home. The kids were all terrific and the food was fantastic!

Bruce being greeted by the kids. I think we were a
little of gramma and grampa to them, too. |

Getting our hugs early!! |

Time to gather to pray and eat! Let me introduce you... to the adults, at least. Kelly and Laura are Southern Baptist missionaries here and have a beautiful family, too. Retoo (sorry about the spelling) was visiting from Texas but she hopes to move to Rwanda and teach here. She is Rwandese but has lived most of her life in the States. Bruce.. you know, and Greg and Angela. Greg is a pastor and the head of the local Christian radio station and Angela is involved with that and also home
schooling all of her kids! The kids were all ready to eat and so were the adults. |
|
There was even a kids' table. They were so cute and fun to be. It helped me not miss our grandkids so much, anyway. |
|
Angela has a great kitchen.... and it was FULL of food. |
The kids went first...
|
and they filled their plates and were happy. |
|
Firsts or Seconds? |
Laura, Retoo, Angela after we all got our plates FILLED!

Making a dinner like this took all of us and by the time you shop, prepare the food and then cook it-- you are really ready to eat! But Angela did the bulk of it. It was wonderful and everything was delicious. |
|
I think this was my favorite.
I didn't get a shot of the dessert buffet but it was also amazing. Got 2 terrific recipes... one for Chocolate Biscotti and the other for Peanut Butter Cups.
You might see those for Christmas... they are really good!
Well, since it is almost Christmas I need to pass this along.
love,
margie |
